Rape Suspect Arrested in Zambo Sur

LAPUYAN, Zamboanga del Sur - Police operatives of Lapuyan Municipal Police Station led by Police Captain Orlyn P Leyte, Officer In-Charge, conducted police operation (Service of Arrest Warrant) at Purok Sumenlad, Barangay Tiguha, Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur at about 9:30 AM on May 28, 2019.

The operation was resulted to the arrest of Toriano Bitayan Y Gampong, 63 years old, married, farmer and a resident of Purok Sumenlad, Barangay Tiguha, Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur.

The accused was arrested by Virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the Crime of Rape, docketed under Criminal Case No. 19-068, dated 12 April 2019, issued by Presiding Judge, RTC, Ninth Judicial Region, Branch 29, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur with no bail bond recommended.

He is now temporarily detained at Lapuyan MPS detention cell while waiting for commitment order from the court.

CAFGU member killed in Shooting Incident

LAPUYAN, Zamboanga Del Sur – A CAFGU member was killed in Shooting incident transpired at Purok 3A, Barangay Bulawan, Lapuyan, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 5:00 PM of May 23, 2019.

The victim was identified as Winnie Poran y Yeo, 56 years old, married, male, farmer, former CAFGU member and a resident of Purok 3A, Barangay Bulawan, Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur.

He was shot to death by the suspect identified as Carolino Capa, 60 years old, married, farmer, former CAFGU member and a resident of Purok 3A, Barangay Bulawan, Zamboanga del Sur.

The victim sustained lone gunshot wound thru in thru at the left side of his abdomen and was brought to Margosatubig Regional Hospital for medical treatment but the attending physician refused to give a first aid because the victim was already lifeless upon arrival thereat.

Firearm used in the commission of an offense is cal.45 based on the recovered slug at the crime scene.

After the incident, the suspect escaped towards North direction heading towards Barangay Sayog, Lapuyan, Zamboanga del sur.

PNP personnel of Lapuyan Municipal Police Station conducted hot pursuit operation for the possible arrest of the suspect.

Investigation conducted disclosed that the motive is due to their misunderstanding as the victim and the suspect were both under the influence of intoxicating liquor.

The incident happened along the road in front of the house of the victim’s brother situated at Purok 3A, Barangay Bulawan, Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur

Grave Threat Incident

LAPUYAN, Zamboanga del Sur - Grave threat incident transpired at Purok 5 Barangay Bulawan, Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur at about 10:00 AM of April 29, 2019.

Police Brigadier General Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the victim as Rudy Lingating Y Libet, 49 years old, male, driver, married and a resident of Purok 6, Barangay Tiguha, Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur.  

Accordingly, at about 10:00 AM of April 29, 2019, the victim was driving his single motorcycle from barangay Bulawan, Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur, when allegedly the person of Jan-Jan Bayokbok, legal age and a resident of Purok 5, Barangay Bulawan, Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur overtook and telling him to stop and suddenly parked his driven single motorcycle in front of the victim angrily confronted and grabbed the victim shirt, holding the cowling of his motorcycle and turned the side mirror of his motorcycle.

Thereafter, the suspect turned his back and fired his gun five (5) times and thereafter changed his magazine and identifies himself as Jan-jan Bayokbok.

Then unidentified person came and took the hand gun of the said suspect and signaled the victim to ran, so the victim hurriedly proceeded to Lapuyan MPS and asked for police assistance.

1 person killed in Shooting Incident, suspect arrested

LAPUYAN Zamboanga del Norte (April 20, 2019) - Shooting incident transpired at Purok Dagum, Tiguha, Lapuyan, Zamboanga Del Sur. about 8:10 o’clock in the evening of April 19, 2019.

Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the victim as Ramel Daniel y Samputon, 40 years old, married, male, farmer and a resident of Purok Dagum, Barangay Tiguha, Lapuyan, Zamboanga del sur.

The victim sustained multiple gunshot wound at the right side of his body which resulted to his untimely death.

The wife of the victim Mercy Daniel stated that she personally saw Bobong Labadia, Joril B Labadia, Mac Mac Labadia choked her husband while lying on the side of the road as if they were trying to drown the victim in the rice field’s irrigation of which the wife’s position has an estimated distance from them was 15 meters away from her husband.

The responding PNP elements were able to apprehend Joril Labadia Y Binghot, 21 years old, single, Jobless, a resident of same place pinpointed by the wife of the victim as one of the three (3) suspects who perpetrated the crime and now under the Police custody of Lapuyan MPS for further investigation.

Based on the initial investigation conducted disclosed that the motive killing is personal grudge as the suspects and the victim has a pending barangay case to be heard at the office of the barangay chairman on Monday April 22, 2019.

Hacking Incident

LAPUYAN, Zamboanga Del Sur (Feb. 21, 2019) - Hacking incident transpired at Purok Datu Lumok, Poblacion Lapuyan, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 7:00 PM of February 20, 2019.

The victim identified as Lanie Razola Baganday, 35 years old, male, married, carpenter was hacked by the suspect identified Jorlet Masal Bernardo, 32 years old, male, married, farmer and both residents of Poblacion, Lapuyan, Zamboanga Del Sur.

Investigation conducted disclosed that prior to the incident, the duo were having a drinking spree at the house of Baltimore Bernardo when heated argument ensued between them and without any reason the suspect hacked the victim.

The victim sustained hacked wounds on his head and on his neck that caused his instantaneous death.

After the incident, the suspect fled towards east direction of above cited place. The SOCO team from processed the crime scene.

Motive of the incident is personal grudge. Lapuyan MPS is conducting hot pursuit operation against the fleeing suspect and preparing a criminal complaint against him.

LAPUYAN, Zamboanga Del Sur (Feb. 15, 2019) - Joint PNP personnel of Lapuyan Municipal Police Station and Zamboanga Del Sur Police Provincial Office conducted checkpoint operation thru intelligence driven information (Service of Arrest Warrant) at Purok Datu, Barangay Poblacion, Lapuyan, Zamboanga Del Sur on February 14, 2019 at about 11:00 AM.

The checkpoint operation resulted to the arrest of Liuterio Luminghat Sampayan, 44 years old, male, married, farmer, and resident of Purok Guinhuran Gbae, Barangay Poblacion, Lapuyan, Zamboanga Del Sur.

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the crime of Murder, docketed under Criminal Case number 1372-L, dated 09 March 2001, issued by Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court, Branch 29, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur with no bail bond recommended.

Subject person is now temporary detained at Lapuyan MPS detention cell while awaiting the commitment order from the court.

Murder Suspect Arrested

LAPUYAN, Zamboanga Del Sur (Feb. 14, 2019) - Joint PNP personnel of Lapuyan Municipal Police Station and Zamboanga Del Sur Police Provincial Office conducted checkpoint operation thru intelligence driven information (Service of Arrest Warrant) at Purok Datu, Barangay Poblacion, Lapuyan, Zamboanga Del Sur on February 14, 2019 at about 11:00 AM.

The successful checkpoint operation was resulted to the arrest of Liuterio Luminghat Sampayan, 44 years old, male, married, farmer, and resident of Purok Guinhuran Gbae, Barangay Poblacion, Lapuyan, Zamboanga Del Sur.

Man Held in Lapuyan, Zamboanga Del Sur for COMELEC Gun Ban Violation

LAPUYAN, Zamboanga del Sur (Jan. 18, 2019) - A 34- year old man was arrested PNP personnel of Lapuyan MPS after he was caught in the carrying a FA which tucked in his waist during the commotion that occurred during the Coronation Night celebration of “61st Araw ng Barangay Bulawan” at Barangay Bulawan, Lapuyan, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 2:00 AM of January 17, 2019.

PCSUPT Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Regional Director identified the arrested man as Jumay Mengo Y Guinon, 34 years old, married, and a resident of Purok 4, Barangay Carpok, Lapuyan, Zamboanga Del Sur.

The suspect was arrested by responding police officers after he attempted to draw his firearm tucked in his right side waistline during the commotion incident which prompted the responding police officer to grab his right hand and recover the firearm and placed the suspect under arrest for violation of COMELEC gun ban.

Confiscated from the possession of the arrested suspect are one (1) unit cal. 45 pistol, colt, with serial no. 51748 inserted with one (1) unit magazine of same caliber loaded with six (6) live ammunition (hardball) and one (1) live ammunition (hollow point).

An inquest case for violation of COMELEC Gun Ban is now being prepared by Lapuyan MPS against the suspect. Said arrested person is now under custody of Lapuyan MPS for proper disposition.
